Job Description

• Plan, collaborate, and co-teach Mathematics and Science lessons with IB PYP UOI homeroom teachers for primary classes, reporting to the PYP Coordinator;
• Take up pastoral care responsibilities for students of the class;
• Refine and articulate the primary Mathematics and Science curriculum to ensure alignment with the IB PYP framework and latest EDB standards;
• Design and differentiate Mathematics and Science instructional resources, emphasizing the integration of innovative teaching aids and maintaining a systematic inventory of materials;
• Formulate and execute a variety of assessment methodologies for Mathematics and Science to monitor student growth and facilitate the delivery of differentiated instruction;
• Serve as a dedicated member of the Gifted Education Team, designing and leading specialized enrichment programs for high-ability students. Provide push-in and pull-out support to students in learning Maths/Science ;
• Facilitate professional development and collaborative sharing sessions for PYP staff regarding Mathematics and Science pedagogy, encompassing external educational resources, field excursions, and laboratory safety protocols;
• Perform other duties as assigned by the department or school.

Qualifications and Skills

• Hold a Bachelor Degree or above in relevant disciplines (Mathematics/Science), preferably with professional qualifications in education;
• Possess relevant teaching experience in Hong Kong local Primary Mathematics and Science Curriculum is required;
• Possess excellent fluency in English;
• Passed the Basic Law and National Security Law Test as required by the EDB.
