About the Role

• We are seeking a versatile IT Consultant to lead system revamp and enhancement initiatives on a 1-year contract basis.
• This role is critical to ensuring seamless data flow, user experience, and operational efficiency across our core platforms, websites, and mobile apps.
• This role requires a unique hybrid professional who understands complex programming logic and system integration, while confidently leading meetings, negotiating with vendors, and communicating with non-technical stakeholders.
• You will act as the bridge between business needs and technical execution, translating user requirements into technical specifications and driving projects from conception to delivery.
• High-performing candidates will be considered for conversion to a permanent role at the end of the contract term.

Key Responsibilities

• System Revamp & Enhancement: Lead the end-to-end enhancement of our core operational systems, websites, and mobile apps.
• Seamless Integration: Ensure robust integration and data flow between backend management systems and frontend digital channels.
• System Analysis: Conduct thorough system analysis to identify improvement opportunities and propose practical, scalable technical solutions in collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
• Technical Oversight: Write or review code (e.g. scripts, API endpoints, webhooks) to guarantee reliable system-to-application communication.
• Vendor Management: Research, evaluate, and select IT solution vendors, prepare RFPs, and manage vendor contracts and deliverables to ensure quality and timeliness.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between internal departments and external technical partners, translating business requirements into clear technical documentation and facilitating user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Project Leadership: Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources while proactively mitigating risks and ensuring compliance with company security and data privacy policies.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 4–6 years of relevant experience in system analysis, technical consulting, or project management, with a strong focus on system-to-web/app integration.
• Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with enterprise management systems (e.g., ERP, CMS, CRM) and database management (SQL).
• Development Knowledge: Understanding of system integration methodologies (including RESTful APIs and middleware) and proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C#, PHP, or JavaScript).
• Soft Skills: Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin are essential for dealing with local and regional teams.
• Stakeholder Management: Strong negotiation skills and the proven ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Technical Knowledge (Nice to Have)

• Cloud solutions: Familiarity with major cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or Alibaba Cloud). Understanding of cloud architecture (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), cloud migration strategies, or cost management.
• Server administration: Knowledge of Windows Server or Linux (e.g. Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat). Understanding of server roles, user access controls, and backup/recovery processes.
• Networking: Foundational knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, and load balancers. Ability to troubleshoot basic connectivity issues or coordinate with network engineers.
• Mobile app backend integration: Experience with push notifications, in-app data sync, or authentication flows (OAuth, JWT).

Other Preferences

• Experience with cross-border projects involving Hong Kong and Mainland China.
• Familiarity with Hong Kong's data privacy laws (PDPO) and common industry standards.
• Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum).
• Cloud-related certification (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator, or Google Associate Cloud Engineer).

Contract & Conversion Details
