STEM Internship Scheme – Summer 2026
This internship opportunity is currently open to students from our partner universities under the STEM Internship Scheme, including City University of Hong Kong and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Want to build tech products that inspire the next generation of engineers? We are developing a tiered "Autonomous Rover" STEM teaching kit that comprehensively covers the learning journey from basic programming to advanced autonomous driving. As an intern, you will participate in the R&D of a smart rover compatible with three major platforms: Micro:bit, Arduino, and Raspberry Pi. You will not only get hands-on experience with hardware assembly and sensor integration but also write control programs of varying difficulty levels, translating complex autonomous driving concepts into engaging STEM challenges.

​Job Responsibilities

• Hardware Integration and Testing: Assist in designing the rover's chassis and circuits, flexibly integrating motors and various sensors (e.g., ultrasonic, infrared, camera modules) into the Micro:bit, Arduino, or Raspberry Pi platforms.
• Cross-platform Programming: Write corresponding control code for different educational stages, including MakeCode block-based programming, Arduino C/C++ low-level control, and Python-based visual recognition programs for Raspberry Pi.
• Autonomous Scenario Design: Design highly interactive "task scenarios" for the rover (e.g., maze solving, simulated smart city logistics, visual line tracking) and test the rover's performance in these environments.
• Teaching Material Development: Translate hardware operation steps and the logic behind the code into clear, easy-to-understand student guides and draft STEM educational materials.

Job Requirements

• Currently pursuing a higher education degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electronic, Automation, etc.), Computer Science, or related disciplines.
• Familiar with the operation of Arduino and Raspberry Pi, and have a basic understanding of Micro:bit and its block-based programming.
• Possess foundational programming skills in Python and C/C++. Experience with computer vision libraries (such as OpenCV) is highly preferred.
• Possess a hands-on "Maker" spirit, with practical experience or a strong interest in electronic components, circuit soldering, and hardware debugging.
• Have innovative thinking and good communication skills, with a passion for simplifying complex tech knowledge and promoting innovative STEM education.

Bonus (Not Compulsory): 3D modeling/CAD experience (e.g., Fusion 360, SolidWorks) and the ability to use 3D printers to prototype custom car body accessories.
