About TreeholeHK
TreeholeHK is a Hong Kong-based mental health technology company. Our MindForest (mindforest.ai), an AI-powered mental health companion app has over 1.48 million user messages. We work at the intersection of positive psychology, public health, and artificial intelligence, developing tools that make psychological support more accessible to everyday users — individuals, families, schools, and organisations alike.
Our team combines technology and clinical expertise to build AI systems grounded in evidence-based wellness frameworks, and to conduct the research needed to understand how these systems perform across diverse real-world contexts.
The Role
This position is for someone who is equally at home analysing data and standing in front of a room. You will contribute to the science that makes AI-assisted wellness support more effective and better understood, while also designing and delivering evidence-based training programmes that bring positive psychology to life for real people — with a particular focus on working professionals, corporate teams, and organisational contexts.
A core thread running through this role is the question of transfer: what happens after a training ends? You will investigate how AI-assisted follow-up on the MindForest platform can extend and sustain the behavioural changes that good wellness training initiates — drawing on coaching psychology and evidence-based communication frameworks to design interactions that support ongoing engagement and growth.
You will join as our Psychology Specialist – Research & Development, working within a supervised research and practice programme spanning positive psychology framework validation, AI-assisted intervention design, post-training outcome research, and wellness training development and delivery.
This role is designed with your growth in mind. You will be supported by senior colleagues in a structured mentorship environment, with a clear path toward greater autonomy and leadership as the team expands.
What You Will Do
Design and conduct empirical research on psychological wellbeing, resilience, and behaviour change following wellness training. Under the guidance of senior researchers, you will formulate research questions, select validated instruments, manage data collection, and apply statistical analysis (SPSS and related tools) to generate evidence-based findings. A central research focus will be post-training transfer: tracking whether and how participants sustain new perspectives and behaviours over time, and what role AI-assisted follow-up plays in that process. You will also conduct systematic literature reviews at the intersection of positive psychology, coaching, digital health, and AI-assisted intervention.
Develop and deliver structured wellness training programmes for corporate and professional audiences. Drawing on both research evidence and your facilitation experience, you will design and run workshops, talks, and training series for corporate teams, working professionals, managers, and leadership groups — in Cantonese and English. Programmes will address resilience, strengths-based leadership, team wellbeing, and life planning, all grounded in validated frameworks. Crucially, these training engagements are also the entry point for the research cycle: each programme you deliver becomes a structured opportunity to study what works, for whom, and what sustains it.
Investigate the MindForest platform as a live research environment for post-training follow-up. You will study how AI-assisted interactions can extend the impact of in-person training — examining engagement patterns, responsiveness to structured prompts, and behavioural outcome trajectories over time. You will prototype AI follow-up content modules that apply coaching-informed communication principles to help users consolidate learning, maintain momentum, and navigate implementation challenges between sessions. A central scientific question for this work is: under what conditions does AI-delivered follow-up actually sustain the changes that training begins?
Field-test and validate intervention protocols in real-world organisational settings. Your training delivery is not separate from the research programme — it is part of it. You will collect participant feedback and outcome data during and after facilitation, collaborate with corporate and institutional partners to embed research validation into live delivery, and feed findings back into the Company's R&D cycle. This includes longitudinal follow-up with training cohorts to track sustainability of change.
Apply public health and organisational frameworks to system-level wellness questions. You will contribute to research examining how individual, team, and organisational factors interact to shape collective wellbeing — conducting comparative analyses across professional populations and helping develop wellness indicators relevant to the Hong Kong workplace context.
Contribute to AI-assisted training and content development on MindForest. Drawing on your experience as a facilitator, you will help design AI-empowered wellness programmes and psychoeducation content for the platform, ensuring that AI-delivered follow-up material reflects the quality, responsiveness, and conversational intelligence of good human-led coaching.
Disseminate findings and translate research into practice. You will contribute to internal reports, white papers, and where applicable, peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations. Research outputs will be translated into practical guidance for product teams and training facilitators within the Company.
