Birgma Asia is a multinational group engaged in the procurement of various products in Asia for export to Scandinavian countries to our group company - Biltema. Our product lines include but not limit to car parts & accessories, bicycles, boating equipment, hand tools, household DIY and construction materials, electronic products and leisure items. Our Asian regional procurement operations currently include several offices in Asia.
Birgma is focused on procurement, logistics and the global manufacturing industry, while Biltema is focused on the retail. Stores with a low cost/price leadership profile. Biltema stores conduct retail operations to private consumers but also to professionals.
To cope with our business expansion, we are hiring the position of Global Sourcing Officer/Supplier Development Officer/Merchandiser.
Responsibilities
Work with various business stakeholders to identify and qualify new or existing capable suppliers through RFQ and e-bidding event
Drive price reduction and quality initiatives for assigned product categories in accordance with company’s best interest
Liaise with quality department to devise performance benchmarking test and coordinate with testing lab to carry out testing
Work closely with product managers and purchasing managers to collect facts, ensure smooth project realization and project timeline is met
Provide support in enhancement of product specification for price negotiation, cost reduction initiatives and high quality of products
Source potential suppliers and maintain competitive price for assigned categories
Support purchasing managers in driving a respectful and collaborative supplier relationship with existing suppliers to ensure they meet all company’s requirements including ethics, value and quality
Lead overall project planning, coordination, implementation, execution, data analysis, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company goals/strategy
Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned
Job requirement
University / College degree in Science / Engineering
1-2 years’ relevant experience, fresh graduates are welcome
Solid experience in sizeable organization or MNCs
Possesses strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal, presentation and project management skills
Experience in technical product, electrical/non-electrical tools, construction commodity, car accessories, mechanical assembly and manufacturing is an advantage
Experience of project management, RFQ, e-Bidding
Flexible working attitude, multi-tasking and detail-orientated
Assertive, meticulous, independent and team player
Fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese
Hands-on computer knowledge in Excel, Power Point and ERP system
Travel is required
Candidates with less experience will be considered as junior positions e.g. Sourcing Assistant/Purchasing Assistant
