Responsibility

• Develop ultra fast, massively scalable, highly available game servers for synchronous/turn-based and synchronous/real-time multiplayer mobile games.
• Implement security best practices and original techniques to keep user data secure and prevent cheating.
• Apply and improve server deployment and troubleshooting strategies that maximize uptime.
• Apply test-driven development effectively to keep game quality high through its evolution.
• Coordinate with game teams, IT, and other groups within APPS1010 as needed to ensure the game services are used as intended and, ultimately, drive product success.
• Working to create a robust server-side solution for orchestrating multiple games running simultaneously in asynchronous fashion.

Key Requirements

• A strong desire to create scalable game servers using modern tech for modern games.
• Top notch programming skills - preference for Java developers, but we hold nothing against other languages.
• A respect for skilled hackers and a healthy level of paranoia that drive your security-centric approach.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, or experience to match.
• Solution-oriented and proactive.
• Excellent networking skills (TCP/IP, UDP, client/server architecture, security, socket programming).
• Excellent platform skills (Windows, Linux(Ubuntu), amazon AWS, VirtualBox).
• Excellent Database skills (MySQL, OracleDB, & SQLite).
• Expertise running live services with Amazon Web Services, Google App Engine, or another public cloud service
• Familiarity with any of the following:
• Facebook, Twitter, WeChat , WhatsAPP, Line or other social APIs
• Games industry experience, especially supporting multiplayer games and/or Unity-based games.
