The Computing Services Centre (CSC) at City University of Hong Kong manages the University’s Information Technology infrastructure and services covering Data Centre Operations, Cloud and System Hosting, Research Computing and High-Performance Computing, Communication and Networking, Workspace and Audio-Visual Technologies, and other related IT functions to support the University’s operations.
- Participate in the formulation of system requirements and design workshops for Information Technology (IT) and Audio-Visual (AV) systems;
- Prepare tender documents, such as technical requirements, scope of work and all types of technical drawings of IT and AV systems;
- Provide technical advice on the installation, testing and commissioning, and defect rectification of all IT and AV systems during the project period;
- Be responsible for the repair, maintenance, improvement, operations and development of IT and AV systems at the main campus and remote campuses of the University;
- Create and maintain documentation, including but not limited to user guides, inventory lists, project drawings, contractor assessment records and AV programming source code files;
- Coordinate efforts within the team and across other sections and departments on projects and tasks;
- Participate in technology exploration and evaluation; and
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- An Associate Degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science/Electronic Engineering/Information Technology, or related disciplines, with at least 2 years of post-qualification working experience, specifically in technical support and system repair of AV systems;
- Solid understanding of IT and AV equipment, such as video projectors, LED walls, video processors, AV controllers, signal interfaces, network switches, conference cameras, digital microphones, central control processors and all common types of AV systems used in higher education settings;
- Demonstrate strong initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving; well-organised and responsible, with strong communication skills and being a good team player;
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and Visio); and
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese are required.
- Experience in project management;
- Familiarity with AutoCAD;
- Good knowledge of new AV technologies and completion of Crestron CTI-P101 and Audinate Dante Level-1 training courses; and
- Holding CTS, CTS-D and CTS-I certificates would be an advantage.
