I have a background in health insurance and I specialize in customer service, claims processing and identifying/implementing process improvements. I am proud of my ability to manage teams by creating environments where employees feel comfortable sharing their truth as well as receiving truth. I am targeting roles in customer service environments where providing exceptional service to patients is the focus. When I saw the description for the Customer Care Manager I applied because the area specialized in providing “white glove service” . I believe with my experience in managing call centers and teams, I could bring value to the position . I thought my interviews went well. My only concern was not speaking with anyone who actually worked in the area. I think having a Trainer conduct part of the interview was a mistake. In my opinion her asking and taking notes was not as effective as having someone with experience in the call center asking questions. Plus she could not answer some of my questions regarding the department. I had to follow up with HR after my second interview which was surprising because they had been very responsive prior to my second interview. I was very disappointed when I received a curt response saying I was not a fit. I know fit is important, but so is having the right person conduct interviews.
