How would you handle a difficult customer?

I can't remember clearly, since it was over a year ago. I know I talked about how I would calmly assess the situation, and make sure I was fully aware of what was going on. I would question the customer about it, and see how we could go about solving the issue as best as possible. If I was unable to satisfy the customer, I would report to my manager.
