      Advertising Sales Graduate Scheme Interview

      10 Oct 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Condé Nast (London, England) in Oct 2016

      Interview

Applied online and got an email inviting me for an interview at the Vogue House. You need to call them to confirm you are attending the interview but don't be surprised they are really rude on the phone. On the day you start with a presentation about the company, we had to bring a filled form about ourselves and we were 11 to 15 candidates. The interview is based on a psychometric test that is extremely long, I could barely finish it on time. While we are all doing the test we got called one by one during it for a one on one interview that is the shortest interview ever. Everyone seems a bit stuck up and dress to impress but try not to over do it, you won't be there long and they barely look at you, 90% of the time you are sitting down. There is a second/last stage if I pass the interview but I am still waiting to hear from them.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Where would you like to be in 5 years? Why do you want to work for Conde Nast? What are your pet peeves?| How would a good friend describe you? How would your enemy describe you? What do you think about this test? What other companies have you applied for? What magazines do you read?

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Condé Nast in Aug 2022

      Interview

Bit of a different interview format to other companies. 1st Interview: in-person resume screening, very brief. 2nd Interview: all about your childhood and your involvements at school. (Didn't get a 3rd Interview - but I think it's with one of the managers and probably more job-specific) All the staff were really nice and friendly but I think they look for a very specific fit (think posh, ex-head girl from London who plays netball) and are unlikely to go for anyone who doesn't fit that because they get new applications all the time from people who do.

      Question 1

What clubs were you involved in at school? Did you play netball? Were you involved in school plays? Were you a school prefect?

      Interview

This was pre-covid and I travelled a long way for the interview without travel expenses paid. The interview itself was less than 5 minutes long. Also had to complete a test on paper asking interview style questions.

      Interview

Very quick interview, everyone in the group I was with were interviewed for under 5 minutes each whilst the rest answered a personality questionnaire. Only asked about three questions, what magazines of theirs I read, when I was ready to start and my previous experience.
