I provided a working solution with reasonable design and implementation but they rejected it saying that it was not production ready by coming to their own conclusions. Moreover they didn't even give me a chance to explain why I designed it that way: instead I heard back the comments from the recruiter. The idea of any technical assessment should be to check whether the candidate is thinking in the right direction.
