AI Engineer here. I recently started a role in the energy/industrial tech space. The work is strong technically, but it’s hybrid (3 office days) with a long commute. I also have a young child who already spends a lot of time in daycare on office days. I now have another offer in telecom/cloud: fully remote, ~$5k higher, slightly more senior. Which would you choose? A) Stay for engineering depth B) Take the remote AI role

I have kids too and would take the remote role in a heartbeat. It makes parenting so, so much easier. The added money and better title is just icing on the cake.

Thank you for your comment. I forgot to mention that the remote role might require some travel. Another thing, I am wondering which industry is stronger and add good experience to my portfolio: Energy sector or IT sector I'm really excited about the remote part of it, but trying to think about it from different perspectives

I’m not seeing the downside of taking the remote role? It’s more money and eliminates your commute. What happens to be your concern?
