Hi IBD fishes, how much does an associate make in an EB? I know someone who left a senior manager role from one of the B4 consulting (making 200k+) to join an EB as only an associate (MBA pivot). does that make sense from a salary perspective?

Depends which EB or BB... Generally speaking EBs run leaner, staffing-wise, but I think a lot of the rest of it is down to individual firm culture / atmosphere. At a lot of places even individual teams can have quite distinct cultures and experiences.
BB as an analyst. Get exposure to non-M&A products - DCM, ECM, LevFin etc. And as MD1 said, diversity of fee generating work at BBs will make it a bit safer in 2020/21.
