I’m curious how people think about loyalty now. Companies talk a lot about retention, but employees have learned not to assume stability. Do you still believe in staying long-term at one company?
I’m in Denver pulling $95k base, and I’m starting to think I made a massive mistake by choosing work-life balance over a front-office grind. I love leaving the office by 6:00 PM, but seeing the first-year IB guys pulling down six-figure bonuses is demoralizing. Is the only way to break the $150k barrier before turning 30 to move into a revenue-generating role?
My gf and I have been dating for about a year now. She’s a nepo baby and I’m self made (not anywhere close to where she is but I live comfortably). I have a startup that’s eating up my money and rightfully so since it’s in the beginning stages. Gf is telling me she’s not happy that im not spending money on her or giving her the time she wants. I want to marry her but not anytime soon whereas she’s pushing it to be faster. Kind of worried she’s gonna make me choose between my career and her soon
I’ve been thinking about whether “career growth” always needs to mean climbing higher, or if sometimes it just means finding a role that fits your life better. That mindset feels healthier to me. How do you define career progress now?
Currently booking summer travel for the family, and it hit me… my parents would’ve never been able to afford vacations like this growing up. It made me wonder: when was the moment you realized, ‘Wow… I finally made it’?
