Why not…
Dilemma. Should I: 1. Stay put: great agency name, big fun clients, lower pay, no promotion in sight for at least a year. 2. Jump: senior title, $40K raise, agency is okay but not top-tier, clients are meh for now but could rotate onto better ones after a few months.
I know that partnership reviews are part of business but they give me so much anxiety. We've known that the Coke partnership contract is up for renewal in 2027 and it was just announced today that the media business is up for review again. Although I work on the creative side, I still get so anxious. I am beginning to see why people are jumping ship to smaller indies, these big holding companies and global clients are only concerned about the bottom line and not their people. Not surprising.
Why is it that so many us of hate our jobs in this industry? On paper, it pays pretty well, you get to make stuff and go on shoots etc. It’s not physically gruelling work and it’s not as dull as most office jobs. So what is it that makes us hate it so much? The hours? The creative frustration? The clients?
Is there a site like ratemyprofessor but for agency clients?
For those of you who jumped and went brand side, did you pay to have your resume ATS optimized? If so, what did you pay? I'm being courted by a major brand, but being told that my ad agency resume needs to be ATS optimized to move forward.
