What is a Finance Assistant?

A finance assistant is responsible for the day-to-day tasks in a financial department. They are responsible for ensuring that the organization has their bookkeeping in order for budgets and taxes. A few of the main duties of a finance assistant are data entry into the system, preparing a balance sheet, updating financial records, and processing invoices. They also have to prepare cost analysis reports for other departments. Some of the jobs titles that a finance assistant could grow into are financial analyst and accountant.

A finance assistant does not need any experience but should have a High School diploma or GED equivalent. One of the most important skills that a finance assistant will have is great attention to detail. Another skill is math skills as the finance assistant will have to understand accounting and financial regulations.
