I worked at Vitra full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Beautiful Products Work and training trips to HQ Free healthcare for full-time employees

    Cons

Going against the norms of every other furniture manufacturer based in New York, Vitra prefers to hire and promote yes-men office drones, rather than people who care and want to see the company grow and succeed. They are not all built to handle the New York market, and often take it out on the lower-level employees. Two high-level men accosted several women at a holiday party, and only after complaints were made to HR did HR clear them of the issue by saying "it's okay, they were so drunk. It does not count, we're treating this as a one time offense." HR was located in Pennsylvania, and almost exclusively came into NY to fire people, so every one was extremely on edge and afraid to speak to HR. Pay less than other manufacturers and design industry leaders, they call inflation raises "bonuses" and never give proper raises. I also think it is worth nothing that until COVID, every employee laid off during the Vitra N/A President's tenure was a person of color. In addition to only promoting yes-man drones, they will saddle you with the work of someone they let go, then deny that they does this and refuse to give a title change or raise.
