Pros
I got a few free knives and like a few hundred bucks so I can’t complain about that but…
Cons
Working here is terrible. I’m quitting tomorrow. You work your butt off and annoy everyone you know to buy very expensive product that no one has interest in. My manager always tells me “follow the demo and you’ll succeed” no sir, cus the demo reminds me of that scene from “The Wolf of Wall-street”, it doesn’t work at all and It only works if you’re piece of crap that doesn’t take no for an answer. You get a promised base pay of 17 per appointment, but in reality your managers will rip into you and even convince you to let them talk to the client in order to make a sale. My manager also said that if you get 4 “no sales” in a row, than you are fired. You work maybe 3-4 hours a day, depending on “how many prospects you can annoy into letting you preach to them.” I hate it and it’s misleading, I feel bad I’m quitting so soon because my manager seems like a genuine dude but at the same time he’s not and is scamming not only our clients but also me. Do not work here if you get recruited, they sugar coat everything but in reality, you are scamming your own family and friends and reps come and go like no other company, meaning they too are being scammed. And don’t even get me started with the training. It’s 8 hours for 3 days of unpaid bull crap. They made it seem so great and even had a former student representative join the meeting and tell us how great it is to work here.

Good For Part Time Work
9 Aug 2021 - Sales Associate in Detroit, MIRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I worked at Vector Marketing in-between summers at college selling Cutco Products. I would say overall my experience was very positive. My boss was nice and we had exciting weekly meetings. My fellow coworkers were also very positive people. I was invited to our regional sales conference during the summer and had a blast. For making money on a flexible schedule this was a great opportunity for me, and I frequently talk about my experiences and lessons that I learned about being a salesperson during interviews.
Cons
It's been a few years, but there were some things that I didn't like that I think that I should bring up. To begin the cost of fruit I paid to demonstrate the products was not covered by the company. Same with gas getting to my appointments. And if you're caught in the situation where you don't make a sale but you're already way above the percentage cutoff for weekly sales, you essentially just wasted the fruit and gas money you used to do the presentation and visit the prospective buyer. If you do this job you need to be good, otherwise you'll end up spending money trying to cover the expenses.

Pros
There's no reason to work here
Cons
I went to an "interview" about a position advertised as a customer service/sales position at $20/hr. The interview was apparently a group interview because the guy hosting it seemed to be speaking to multiple people but I only had the option to chat with him. That or his responses were prerecorded. This is a sales job targeting young graduates of high school and college. The training is unpaid, you're expected to pitch sales to people you know first. They claim an average sale is around $340 per each virtual appointment if you can make a sale. If not, you get paid $19/per virtual appointment you secure. Not hourly. Per appointment. They stress the quality and durability of their knives as being used so long that they're passed down as family heirlooms while simultaneously touting that sales are easy because "everybody eats". If sales and being gullible is your thing, go for it. If not, find somewhere else to work that has paid training and a steady wage.

Pros
Really good environment. The team is very friendly and approachable.
Cons
The company is very misleading during the interview process. You don't realize it's a pyramid scheme until you start working there. Several long hours of unpaid training and they kind of trick you with the commission vs. base pay. They say you'll get paid either way even if you don't make a sale in an appointment but will only give you the base pay if you haven't made any sales that week. If you don't make a sale in an appointment but you've made other sales during the week you will not be compensated for the hour long appointment that you didn't make a sale in. They were not transparent about this.

All around satisfaction with almost everything.

You get paid to just show the presentation, people arent obligated to buy. Friendly safe environment, with awesome coworkers. Free prizes the more you sell. You have a manual right there for you to guide you through the whole thing. It's amazing product.
Cons
Being by referral only make things really difficult for some people to make appointments because they might not know a lot of people and the people they do know dont really talk to anyone. Also setting a fast start goal in the first 10 days is great, but it is stressful having to make a goal that you hope you can reach because let's be honest not all people have the money to buy things even with a 5 month pay plan. I feel you shouldn't be made to feel like if you dont make a sale in your first 10 days that your basically gonna crash your carrer..

I can afford college because of this job!
18 Apr 2021 - Manager in Walnut, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I am really grateful this position fell into my lap when I graduated high school. It has allowed me to afford college, I've met so many incredible people, and I can't imagine another job where I could go from receiving 10% commission as a sales rep to 50% as a manager in one year.
Cons
The pay is a common misconception, here's how it works: If you set up 20 appointments in a week, you are payed AT LEAST 22 dollars for every one of those appointments. So, 20 x 22 = $440 will be on your check that week, even if you don't sell on any of the appointments. HOWEVER, if you make sales that week and the commission on those sales is more than (for example) $440, you would get the 10% commission on those sales. Representatives do not get both commission and base pay. Either way its really great pay though!
