I worked at Sierra-Cedar full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You will learn a lot here because they have a bunch of problems both within the organization and within their infrastructure. There are so many problems once you solve them you will be better at what you do. They don't care if you work from home all the time just as long as you don't mind working all the time.

    Cons

They think you want to live there. On-call and maintenance windows are like being in a gulag. They don't treat their technical people very well but the other staff they treat much nicer.

    I worked at Sierra-Cedar full-time

    Pros

Casual Dress, Work From Home opportunities, A mostly relaxed environment. The company isn't advanced enough to have many effective processes and procedures so most work can be performed without too much red-tape...however this presents a whole other list of issues. Good PTO amount...because the Insurance is so bad.

    Cons

Terrible Insurance offerings, employee pays almost all of the Premiums, and no additional Benefits. . No Bonus except for Directors or above. Terrible Office...it's in a good location but too small and no amenities. The "former" CFO and still an Executive also owns the building and is cheap. No wall hangings/decorations allowed, no rearranging the furniture even if it's needed. Can't even put up name tags on the offices or seats...good luck learning everyone's name. No break room. Conference rooms are always locked and very few people have keys. Real PITA. Inexperienced IT Management. Most have been at the company a long time and advanced through the ranks, so while they may be good "technical" resources, they aren't good managers or leaders. If you're not into drinking after work, you're not in the club.
