      Pros

The energy was good (because it has to be for anyone to make money), camaraderie is great (because the job is so horrible). People there seemed to be like family, and it became clear why. They all felt stuck.

      Cons

This company lures employees in with false information. They hire you for a particular role, but start you in a completely different role while ensuring you that it is only temporary and “part of the training process”. They will keep you in said role (door-knocking) as long as they please, never actually placing you into the role you were hired for, unless you are the very squeaky wheel. They are charming and persuasive, but incredibly manipulative. They manipulate and take advantage of their employees, using them as pawns to achieve their own personal goals. They are able to do this while also creating a semi fun work environment, dangling false hope in front of people who have few other options. I feel sorry for the management who have to play this game in order to get new hires. I’m sure it’s exhausting. I feel sorry for the employees who are aware of this, but put up with it because they have already put in several years of hard work waiting for a promise…or because a free dinner is the best thing they have ever experienced at a workplace. This company might be ok for new college graduates who don’t care about being treated with respect or people who don’t have any other options, but if you have experience in anything whatsoever-don’t waste your time here.

So Much More Than Windows & Doors :)

      27 Feb 2023 - Engagement Specialist
      Recommend

      Business Outlook

      Pros

While applying for events jobs online, I stumbled across Power and had the same thought many others do: "why would I want to work for a company that sells windows and doors?" But I decided to throw my resume in the batch, and I couldn't be more grateful I did. Power is so. much. more. than a home remodeling company- it's a place that genuinely cares about its people, moreso than any other company I've ever seen. In fact, it employs 30 full time people on its "People Experience" team, which is exactly what it sounds like: a team focused on the employee experience. Over my 2.5 years at Power, I've grown from an events intern, to a special events coordinator, to an event specialist, and most recently became an Engagement specialist, where I've had the opportunity to start a new department under our Chief People Officer- not many companies offer growth that quickly. On top of that, I've made some of my closest friends and traveled the country executing events specifically for the well being of our people, including our annual music festival in Mexico, where we bring in artists like Post Malone and Bruno Mars to perform privately for our employees on the beaches of Cancun. Power is just different, and it can't be explained until you experience it for yourself!

      Cons

There's definitely a lot of rejection depending on the role you are in (wasn't applicable to my role, but for others it is)

      Amazing place to work

10 Mar 2023 - Remodeling Consultant in Dallas, TX

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Excellent pay scale, incredible training and ongoing support, and true unapologetic inclusion of all people and backgrounds. No tokens or mascots. The company is everything that it says it is. It provides the opportunity to earn financial freedom and it always puts its money where its mouth is. Career advancement is almost all internal so you can rise as high as your individual capacity will allow. Along the way, you will be guided and supported by your peers and mentors, management, and the company as a whole. Power is a company you can be proud to work for. The only thing that holds you back is yourself.

      Cons

Long and inconsistent hours due to “on call” scheduling, work/life balance can be difficult (especially for those with families), and the job can be physically and emotionally draining at times. The highs are high. But the lows can be very low. Keeping a positive mindset and self-discipline are crucial to prolonged success at Power. If you struggle with those things, this company will either force you to grow (sometimes uncomfortably), or you will leave through your own action or inaction.

      Amazing company in every category!

      Pros

Incredible culture. Power does an amazing job at creating a fun and exciting work place. Monthly, quarterly social events. They offer really cool incentive based promos ie. trips around the world, gift cards, cars, watches. You name it power has offered it in promo. The leadership does a lot to make sure people enjoy working here. Paintball tournaments, comedians coming in during department meetings, kickball tournaments, Poker nights, team cabin trips. Every year the entire company is hosted at an all inclusive trip to Cancun. Top performing artist join us for a 3 day music festival. Power pays for everything. Pay is beyond GOOD! Power over compensates you for you hard work. I’ve almost doubled my income every year that I’ve work here. 100k, 200k, 300k. Top executives really care about all their employees, they would bend over backwards to help you improve your life. (Financially and overall happiness)

      Cons

In sales, you can drive a lot. (What sales job doesn’t). There is a learning curve to becoming an expert in the industry. However, there are tons of resources to help. Biggest ones being the leadership team. Every office I’ve worked out of, there are always people asking if I need help with anything.

      Exceeding Expectations

6 Mar 2023 - IP Support in Phila, PA
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

When i first applied to Power its easy to think that they are just a home renovation company where the employees make a lot of money. While that may be true there is so much more than just financial security and reliable work. Leadership genuinely cares about your well being and wants to help you personally knowing that will lead to better results professionally. The word Culture is used by almost every company as a way to get people in the door here at Power it isn't just a word its a true commitment to its employees where not only are you allowed to be who you are it, is encouraged and celebrated. Knowing that even the highest leaders in the business started off at entry level positions gives me the confidence to know that hard work and dedication truly can get you far at this company and its not just a saying.

      Cons

Power's expectations are high. As a leader in the industry they must be. Some people may see that as a con but being asked to step out of your comfort zone and take on new challenges is something that you must be ready to do if you plan to be here for the long haul.

      Great People, Great Place

23 Feb 2023 - Technology Support Specialist in Chester, PA
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

There is a lot of opportunity for growth and there is a lot of support to help you personally and professionally as long as you work hard, strive to be better, communicate and be a good person. You will learn so much no matter your position/role from day one. Our workplace at HQ and other office locations are plenty nice but the best thing is that you get to meet a lot of great people. There are plenty opportunities while working or events that are great times to enjoy with everyone. The best thing is when we get together to partake in things that help people around us (whether within Power or outside of Power). This includes things like getting time to volunteer for your community and it is really cool to see the impact. And if you notice something that we can do or do better, speak up and you can get that opportunity to get things going.

      Cons

Depending on your role, there can be challenging times where there are bigger work volumes, a fast-paced environment and/or varying schedules. To overcome this, you need to be willing to put in the work and effort and communicate. People here, whether it is your team or those in leadership are always willing to help and that is something to always keep in mind.

      Great opportunity

      Pros

Great opportunity if you want a long lasting career and like to make lots of money and work hard. The leadership really cares about every person who works here and will go out of their way to make sure that you are successful! The support between the peers and leadership is something that I have never experienced at a job. Many different social event and activities and trips to make you better not only as a worker but as a person.

      Cons

Can be long workdays but your rewarded with great income. Sometime you may drive long up to 50 miles but many days you are only driving 10 or less miles.

Great Place to Work & Thrive

7 Feb 2023 - Remodeling Consultant in Chicago, IL

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Power provides all the tools and training necessary for you to excel not only in your personal life, but financially and culturally as well. The information you are provided with to aid your growth and hone your skills are second to none, and if you are willing to work hard and constantly strive to be better, this is a company that you can absolutely thrive with. They are constantly evolving to be better, growing their business & brand, and striving to be the very best company in the home remodeling industry, while being one of the very best places to work and feel included with anything and everything that you do.

      Cons

The schedule as a remodeling consultant can be very demanding at times, also time management is a very important skill to have prior to working for Power - it will come in very useful as you adjust to your schedule. You will need to spend a lot of time outside of working hours to continue to get better, improve, and become an absolute expert in your industry.

Power Home Remodeling - Employee Review

      Pros

So far (I've been here 4 months) I have loved everything about Power! I think the people here are really nice. It is great that everyone from my peers all the way up to the Co-Founder (Adam Kaliner) genuinely cares about you. I have a lot of freedom in the work I do, since this was a newly created position/department, which, I have absolutely loved! From the beginning (and it continues) my boss (Dave Genet) as well as Adam have said to take my time and just learn. Which, again, I have never experienced in any other company I have been with. Normally, companies want you to come in and just know everything, which, is never really the case.

      Cons

Although I love the flexibility I have in my daily work and what I am doing, sometimes (just my personality) I get frustrated (with myself) that I don't know what I am doing or what I should be working on. But, that is something that as time goes on will get better, and, I have the full support of those around me to make this happen.
