Pros

This is a DSO so there is a lot of opportunity for advancement here. The company is excellent at promoting from within. I started as a dental assistant and am now on the support team helping others grow at PDS. The benefits are excellent, PTO is great, 401k with matching and bonus potential for hourly and salaried employees. There is a lot of training and continuing education as well.

Cons

We are a patient centric company (which is a good thing) but that means we don't work 8-5 Mon-Fri. You should be flexible with hours as well as changes in processes and adapting to new technology if you choose to work here. It's not a Con for me but can be for some so thought I'd mention.

They turned over nearly an entire department of recruiters/university recruiting team after bringing in two new leaders with no experience. It's sad that their leader cares more about looking like she made a sad, cheap call than the 30 dedicated people the new guys ran off. The new guys have a philosophy of finger pointing at operations and throwing out disingenuous stats. Not that they could actually pull the stats, they are only concerned with taking credit for the work others do because they're not capable of anything close to actual work. Lots of empty words, zero working. The leader had the audacity to create a self-serving post on LinkedIn about people taking care of people...lacks the self awareness to realize we all know that it was after yet another direct report resigned. He's all about himself. They say they're the best and they are definitely not. Most of the people I know have left feeling jaded or mistreated at a minimum.

I can barely pay my bills and I work my butt off every single day. They don’t value their employees enough to pay them enough, even the ones who have been around for years and years, and they know how stressful the job is. Majority of coworkers are unhappy. Turnover rate is high

You learn a lot in a short amount of time

Hours are never consistent. You are running around for several doctors in a given day and most doctors are brand new, right out of school and have zero experience in the field. All the new doctors I have come in contact with treat you like less than a human and down talk to you if your not on their "level" (aka a D.D.S. or D.M.D.) Very Saddening.

40 hours not guaranteed, no patients = no hours. Very bad google reviews that are 100% accurate. Dictatorship management, days go as good or bas as the mood management/provider is in. Moral values lack and patients are left with some very sad & unethical situations.

Pros

Great pay, perks and promotions for all white males. No work at home options, which data shows us is more conducive and positive for males.

Cons

If you don’t have a white male member, consider this your warning around the culture of this company. I saw the salaries. Some men in the same department at support made up to $20,000 more than their female counterparts who had been in role longer. After bringing it up to leadership I was told I didn’t understand.

The woman that trained me was the sweetest. My other coworkers were nice for the most part.

Cons

I have never had experience working as a receptionist, but the job was just too much. I was the only receptionist at the time, and it was chaotic. I was low balled when I first got hired. They wanted me to do Benefits Coordinator stuff but not pay me what I was supposed to get paid. It was stressful, and the only thing that made it enjoyable was how nice the staff was.

The doctor and manager you work with can make or break your experience. Nothing can prepare you for how rude patients can be being upfront makes you the bad guy of the office so patients can ruin your time. Regional management pretends as if they care but all they care about is that you make money. You can ask for help from other offices but they won't help.
