      Just ok

Mar 1, 2022 - Bus Operator in Des Plaines, IL

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Being certified for class b cdl, good pay overall, independent work

      Cons

If you can start at a company that certifies for class A cdl. Work schedules are bad and will go through turning over to full time, they will get better but at snails pace. Every operator starts off part time(almost unlimited ot) can take a lengthy period before reaching time and getting benefits such as sick days, vacation days or pay for working holidays

      Cannot recommend

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      Health-Dental Insurance/Generous PTO and Vacation time/Pension after 5 years

      Cons

Very toxic work environment. Low moral company-wide. Micromanagement is the norm. A LOT of employees are hired because of Who they know. HR has been notified about management and employee issues but is not concerned with resolving them. Upper management ignores employment law, HR supports upper management. Pay grades at or below average for majority. Raises are minimal. FYI, Glassdoor has outdated, info, T.J. Ross has not been the head of the agency since 2018.

      Pros

      Cons

Top-down, command and control management culture de-motivates ingenuity. Aging fleet, shrinking ridership.

      Toxic Culture

      Pros

Time off, benefits and water filter

      Cons

Very toxic culture. Bad management. Management is stuck in the past. Pace loves to waste tax payer money. IT department is constantly replacing things that are working just fine just to spend money. Rampant nepotism and favoritism. No diversity. Big brother is constantly watching. Stay away!!!
