Friendly coworkers but serious staffing and pay issues
Pros
Mostly friendly and helpful coworkers who value team work
Cons
-STAFFING -Low/unfair pay -Hours often cut resulting in staff working part time hours when they are full time -Constant lawsuits and offering employees a significantly small paycheck to "provide fair compensation" so that there are less employees who can qualify as class members of the current lawsuit (there have been many, and will be many more..) -Wrongful terminations and terminations without reason to hire new employees for less pay (This is especially the case for those in lower management positions or whistleblowers; several former employees have won lawsuits against them for this) -Refusing to promote/give positions first to current employees and only hiring externally (especially true for float pool positions) -Refusing to offer incentive/stipend for pickup shifts when staffing is low, resulting in staffing being short constantly or employees working significant overtime with little benefit to try to help their team and patients with safer staffing -Dissolving essential roles/positions to decrease staffing to save money -Threatening employees with disciplinary action when breaks/meal requirements are not met, resulting in a significant amount of employees lying about getting breaks when they are often unable to take them because of unsafe staffing ratios -Terrible health insurance benefits that require high deductibles and frequently deny to cover vital health care. Healthcare workers should not be receiving health benefits that are exponentially worse than companies like Amazon or Costco for example (Though everyone deserves good health care) -Yearly, or sometimes more, pickets/strikes from employees because of low pay and unsafe staffing -Current inability to come to an agreement with insurance companies which is threatening hundreds of thousands of patients from losing access to their healthcare providers then sending emails to employees, urging us to tell customers that MultiCare is always there for them and not to be worried (I refuse to lie to my patients. They haven't come to an agreement because of greed, not because they care about their patients healthcare) -Refusing to fire employees/managers who commit actual assault against others (with video/multiple eyewitness proof) or harm to their patients because they check the box for their diversity goals. I'm looking at you GSH HP. -Failing to provide accurate pay and then completely ignoring employees who request payroll correction, requiring employees to report them to Labor and Industries. Only then do they finally pay what they owe.
