    Pros

Nice office in NY Management is extremely fair and very approachable

    Cons

    Merged with a monster.

    Advice to Management

Take care of the original KS people. They have been loyal employees and are getting pushed around by the monster.

I worked at Kurt Salmon full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Some amazing projects (sometimes needed to network / leverage relationships to get staffed on the right opportunities). Really great people and culture. Engagement managers / clients generally respected work-life balance (although some projects were worse than others). My colleagues at KS were (are) some of my closest friends.

    Cons

Potential to travel every week (not always a Con, but it's the reality). Unless you live in New York. Your career path is in many ways shaped by the projects that are being sold (need to be very clear about your career goals to make sure you can get the experiences you need to grow). While I was there, some projects were poorly scoped / resourced. Some projects were overstaffed and people were underutilized... -- this was frustrating. On many projects there was the opposite problem. Probably par for the course for any consulting firm.

I worked at Kurt Salmon full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Some of their senior people (Sr. Mgrs +) are the best in the business in terms of expertise, leadership, mentoring, ethics and value. Working alongside these folks can be quite an experience if one is open to learning from them, from the example they set.

    Cons

Just like in any org, there are some D and F level players, even in the senior roles who were typically hired from outside. Some have been asked to leave by more than 3 clients, squandered millions in client money yet remain at the org in highly visible leadership positions.

    Advice to Management

Hold partners and directors accountable to the same (at least) or a higher standard than the rest of the organization. Many people at that level are resting on their laurels, abusing their title to mistreat staff or escape unscathed when they make costly mistakes that cost the company people, reputation, revenue and time/money to the clients.

I worked at Kurt Salmon full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Kurt Salmon has one of the best company cultures that you will find in the consulting world. The people are varied, friendly and extremely well specialised in their fields. The acquisition has meant that they have been able to tap into a wealth of knowledge from Accenture and in general the team are very happy with the move. If you are looking for projects that are operationally focused and allow for a real hands on... retail approach then this is the company for you.

    Cons

There is a degree of repetition on projects compared to other consultancies. If you like what you are doing, this is great!

    Advice to Management

Overall great job. You do need to know however that at a junior level everyone knows there is a large disparity in remuneration packages. Keep engaging with your team, they are the best advert to your success in this new world
