BIPOC Beware

Pros

Benefits & working with clients. You'll meet lifelong friends.

Cons

But you'll meet those lifelong friends as you commiserate together. If you are BIPOC or hold any other marginalized identity, this is a really difficult place to work. There is very little or no internal growth for BIPOC in the organization. Extraordinary toxic attorney affinity culture and the elitism is so real, especially in the hiring process. There is NO process for inclusive engagement. Very hierarchal institution.

Pros

They provide decent benefits. There is new leadership for the first time in over a decade.

Cons

Repeated pattern of internal conflict and racial inequity. Microaggressions abound. Very little possibility of internal growth and promotion. Severe deficiency in people management. Several managers care more about raising their own profile and less on developing and managing their team. Internal culture is toxic and steeped in hierarchy.

Pros

Excellent benefits package. Competitive pay.

Cons

Racism is endemic. Extremely hierarchical. Leadership micromanages, lacks transparency, and gets defensive about feedback.
