I can’t deny it, just as in most companies, and if you really dwell on the negatives, yes…there are several negatives at Gable. Communication in a company with 145+ staff is not easy and an area we strive to improve. We haven't always done the best job of providing constant feedback to our staff and that has led to far too many communication issues. And yes, the Gable management team is guilty as charged that we sometimes seem to be moving in different directions. We are currently looking to add new managers to help us improve in the areas we have failed.
It’s true, we have had management depart Gable for brighter and greener pastures, some that we are even proud that their time with us was mutually beneficial in creating greater opportunities. For others, the chemistry wasn’t right and we decided to part ways, as we (Gable) also have that choice if we are not seeing the expected results. One reason for our seemingly dissimilar direction of our management team, is our continued desire to be a leader in the blended industries we serve, while continuing to raise the bar for our staff and ultimately our competition. Our industry, the technology, and the world around us is moving faster than ever before. We continually strive to remain cutting edge with our innovation, our solutions and offerings, and yes, even aggressive pricing when we have to be. Our team should be comforted knowing that we know how to win business and recognize the importance of sales in any business. We move fast to stay ahead of our competition. On the other hand, we take our time ensuring we make the best decisions; most of the time. Our culture does not fit every person, every personality, or every situation. We recognize the need to improve in many areas but we will not apologize when we cannot make everyone happy all of the time; that is not realistic. Even as an owner I get frustrated that we can't do better, frustrated that we don’t always attract the best people. I even get down when I know one of our staff is not happy or feels we have not communicated well or they feel we've intentionally mislead them. I have a very high standard of who Gable should be and will continue to push for greatness, not accepting the status quo. I take it as a personal challenge each day to make something better, improve a process, demand more from our staff, and especially, demand more from myself. We take business seriously, but seriously does not mean we are perfect.
