I have been working at FDM Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

2 months of training on UNIX, Java, Web development with JavaScript and JSP + Communication training so you are also trained for tackling technical interviews and presentations There are salaries for training and the clients you will work for after the training are mainly global commercial and investment banks so you have plenty of exposure working in the business environment

    Cons

There is a penalty fee if you break the 2-year contract, however it is there to protect the company as they provide you 2-3 months of training

I have been working at FDM Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They have connections in the industry that will lead you to opportunities. If you're a competent CS Major/techie that couldn't get positions because of your experience, this company is a great choice. They provide paid training and it's a great opportunity to brush up on technical skills that may have gotten rusty. They offer benefits, paid time off, and 401k matching. You are given an opportunity to travel depending on which client selects you and they do include a relocation package. You generally only work 40 hours. They value diversity and inclusion.

    Cons

You're placed on a strict 2 year contract and the two years don't start until you are placed with your employer. Your employer can't buy out your contract. The pay is a bit low for the two years and you'll get paid the same regardless of where you're hired. You may not like your team or employer and you have no real say in the matter if you get chosen as a candidate. If you struggle in the course work it's difficult to get additional help. Overtime is discouraged once placed with a client, you only work up to 40 hours a week and it can become awkward planning deadlines.

    Cons

2 year contract feels like prison in most cases and interview process is not personable.

I worked at FDM Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Access to blue chip companies

    Cons

Extremely low salary compared to market average. Locked into 2 year contract and you have to pay 30 K to leave early. Management just want to make money out of you, you'll be terminated on the first sign that you're not profitable.

I have been working at FDM Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great for getting expoure to work in large IT and Financial institutions.

    Cons

"Training" is very minimal and does not accurately represent how much they say it is worth. (I would have had to pay 17.5k for 8 weeks of classes if I left the consultancy before my 2 year contract ended). The quality of training can vary, but my experience was that it was very basic, and something you can easily research yourself online. The only part of training that were useful was the 1 week of SQL, which in itself is not enough. The company does not provide a hospitable environment that would make you want to stay longer than 2 years. For example they are very stringent with holidays and sick pay. They don't pay sick pay until after 6 month of your first placement starting. They do not allow to buy/sell holiday even if the client you are working has signed it off. They also provide very little support once placed with a client. FDM runs very effectively with a great business model for its shareholders but it is essentially a graduate factory. They charge their clients over double the value which they pay their consultants and therefore you have to be willing to stay for 2 years for the exposure to their clients.

I worked at FDM Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I literally cant think of any pros. Maybe if youre straight out of college its a good entry point, but even then youre better off working entry level software engineering job and move upward after year 1.

    Cons

Low pay. Account manager do not care about you. You basically have to do their job for them and keep asking to get placed everyday. They also seem to play favorites too as others seem to go on several interviews for the same position/cohort. No transparency on your pay. Java developers gets the same amount of pay as every other stream. The work I was doing commanded 118k starting and I was barely getting 38k. Promises to reimburse my rent, never to be heard from again. They also tell you stories about how consultants will work at placement site full time after two years, but thats winning the lotto. Talked to several FDMers and only 1 person got full time status after 2 year contract with FDM.

I have been working at FDM Group full-time

    Pros

Good clients, decent lifestyle in training period if you have a good class

    Cons

Can’t choose where/who you work with. Salary not that high and fixed for two year (slightly bigger in second). Worst of all - 20,000 to leave before your 2 year contract ends is extortion
