TIN is an underrated company; really good to work for at the Corporate level - Human Resources Temple-Inland Employee Review

Pros

I have real faith in the senior leaders of the company. Since the Guaranty Bank spin off, it has taken some time for Corporate to realize that we are a manufacturing company, but they are finally coming around. Expectations are very high to work hard within a lean organization, and that has been hard for some Corporate folks to grasp. But we seem to be weathering the economic downturn better than most and that makes me proud.

Cons

There seems to be a lack of cohesion between building products, corrugated packaging and business support. Policies, procedures, working environments and even company mission seems to be different for each group. Some senior leaders have difficulty making hard decisions; there is some leftover "fat" at the top levels that seem protected from termination, even when their performance is not peak which can be frustrating.
