Pros

Benefits (401k, health insurance, tuition reimbursement); Physical environment - new building with lots of windows and beautiful views; in an industry with lots of growth opportunity. There are smart, hard working, devoted individuals within the organization who want and are supporting positive changes, most of whom are not in positions of power.

Cons

There have been lots of initiatives for change with no real overall change because of culturally engrained favoritism, lack of transparency, poor leadership skills and a historical check-the-box mentality from some key individuals within executive management. Some individuals in top management positions are not leaders, they are not good managers of people, they surround themselves with other poor managers who protect them and shield them, they seem to avoid any introspection or self-reflection. Despite being reported through the company's ethics hotline by multiple individuals, these powerful individuals continue to act in unethical ways, wielding their power, managing by fear through retaliation, actions that demean individuals and dismiss legitimate complaints, and twist facts to fit their own version of reality. Across the organization there is a demand for flexibility and overtime from the employees with little or no flexibility or reward from the organization in return. Employee engagement is in the pits and senior management thinks giving the employees free lunch and free jeans will somehow fix it.
