I could write a book. I worked at this company for around two years and have no positive feelings about my time there. Starting with development, training, feedback, progression/promotions/appraisals - you can expect none of this, even if you ask for it repeatedly. Culture is really poor, it genuinely feels like nobody cares about you or your mental health and if you do work extra hours (because workload is hectic and you're a hard worker) don't expect any thanks or recognition... ever! In my two years, benefits we're disappearing slowly over time, which was not communicated well to employees. Communication as a whole is extremely poor across the group and agencies, which is ironic given they are 'communication agencies'. In January 2023 a new Group CEO was hired for SCIRIS, which is where things went from bad to worse... Isaac is a total clown, a sexist bully who has no idea how to lead a business to success with a 'people first' culture. He has pushed many hires out of the business one way or another, made a large sum of redundancies (a huge chunk of these being women) and has made his mans club at the top. He is a vile man who I am pleased to now be away from. As far as the company and the success of SCIRIS, I see no success for this business in anyway, they are losing money whilst also not making much. Genuinely, joining this business is likely going to be a detriment to your career, mental health and like me it may also take a toll on your passion for your job and career and feelings towards this industry as a whole.

Pros

SCIRIS has gone through a major transformation since Dan became CEO. There’s now a clear focus on people, fairness, and integrity - things that were blatantly missing before. Communication is clearer, and support is easy to access. I see real opportunities for a future at SCIRIS. Leadership updates are regular and transparent, with town halls and open-house sessions hosted by the C-suite. The leadership team is proactive and approachable, and I genuinely feel listened to. There’s also a renewed sense of trust between leadership and employees - I feel valued and respected. It’s clear that the company is investing in people again, with a stronger focus on developing career skills and wellbeing. Things like lunch-and-learn sessions, line management training programmes, and small but meaningful perks really show that the company is paying attention.

Cons

There’s still a lot to rebuild after the problems created by previous leadership. Some outdated perceptions still linger, but the current leadership is clearly putting in the work to rebuild trust and credibility.
