Pros
RIFT has some great stances on work life balance in that as soon as it hits your finish time you are expected to pack up and go home to relax. They do not pressure you to work past your working hours and also encourage you to take your full break. Flexibility is a plus too as if you have a doctors appointment you can work slightly later to make up for the time you need to take out and also working from home for a day if you need to. They have some amazing personality's where everyone is nice to each other and the team update meetings will usually end in a short game or quiz to bring up moral. In the office they offer a snack bar and drinks which are free throughout the day. The office is modern and clean. There area lot of people around to help support you with any queries and everyone is very helpful. Dependant on the manager you are assigned, they are very supportive
Cons
They pay a lot less than the national average and we were also made to feel guilty when minimum wage went up as our wages had to increase with it. We have our targets shown to us daily which shows a massive amount the company makes in fees which makes the salary we are paid feel a little offensive. We are pushed to hit targets that take more time than the hours in the day. Sometimes It can feel like luck if you are able to have a good day however if you have a difficult case come through you are forced to choose if you do the case correctly and spend a lot of time on it which lowers your effectiveness and in turn lowers your overall bonus. Or you can choose to do it quickly and possibly incorrectly so that you remain on targets and in turn have a slightly higher bonus. Not that the bonus is lifechanging anyway. Some of the soft targets have changed within the years I had been there, I was then gaslighted into being told they hadn't when we had emails with old performance trackers showing the difference. I have put this in "cons" due to the uncertainty of this happening however one thing I was happy about with RIFT was their stance on abuse. If a customer was being abusive on the phone, RIFT are firm on their no abuse policy and you have the right to refuse to serve that individual. In some cases that individual is no longer welcome as a RIFT customer which supports the workers to not have to withstand being shouted at etc.. I do however think it is a con as this doesn't happen every time. There have been instances where the abusive customer were just passed to someone else/ given a fee reduction just to keep the customer. This had caused some customers to catch wind that if you complain and shout at your specialist you would get to skip the queue and pay less than normal. This isn't always the case and most of the time these people would get banned from using RIFT services however there has been some instances where the employees were not protected. RIFT has a bad clique problem. Gossip is a major issue and bullying has occurred even from managers.
