They mislead you into thinking the job pays well when in reality the base pay or "salary" are based on long hours worked. They advertise a 60k salary but most managers work 60-80 hours a week. When you factor that in you are making the same rate as the cooks per hour. Upper management is very judgemental and will lie to you. If you are not of a similar ethnic background your chances of being promoted are very slim. They say you will "graduate" in 4-6 weeks to an actual general manager and keep you as a trainee for much longer. I did my job very well and received many compliments from customers, but a certain "ethnic community" has very strong ties and they make up lies if they don't see you as one of them. Upper management is miserable and they are arrogant. When the owner comes for a visit they put on a great show and only allow fake people to be present to appear "friendly". I would here upper management say "you are American, why do you want to work here you have plenty of opportunities elsewhere". This was amongst other things that were said to me.
