Pros
My favorite thing about this company is the culture and working for a startup where you don’t have to deal with a lot of red tape. Our main philosophy is Kaizen, continuous improvement, and not only do we do our best to apply this to a growing company but there is a lot of stress on continuous improvement with ourselves as individuals and creating fun team challenges to encourage it as a group. The team is fairly flexible, very friendly, collaborative, and the impact we make is pretty inspiring. Talking to and hearing the students’ stories of landing jobs that increase their salary by sometimes $20k a year and seeing what that does for their life is great. Benefits are also pretty good.
Cons
Startups naturally come with some kinks. We wear a lot of hats, could be a pro or a con to someone. As a small team we lack specific roles and some people fill in for those roles instead of a dedicated personnel to run it at its best, for example communication throughout the company but I do think this has been improving and believe it will improve as we grow and fill those roles. Expected work is 8-6 instead of a 9-5.
