Compensation is pretty terrible. It doesn't match your advancement either. Ten years and multiple promotions in I was 40% behind the market and they promised to match me to the market after x amount of time in a new role if I jumped through certain hoops. I did my part, they did not do theirs. The excuse was hiring freeze and budget (which is always the excuse for the years of missed/miniscule raises). So, I took my expertise and left for a new position. Lesson learned: don't stick around a place like this too long if you want to keep up with the economy, even if you like your work.
