Magnet hospital: nurses have plenty of organization-funded professional development opportunities and have a huge shared governance role. Many celebrations throughout the year geared towards employee appreciation. Nursing aides provide great assistance to RNs. Overall culture among employees: 4.5/5.
Cons
Lower pay for RNs compared to other similar hospitals; recently changed EHR from Hoag-owned SCM to Providence-owned Epic build, making it really challenging to have optimization requests fulfilled through the many layers of approval within the vast Providence network though they are HIGHLY needed at Hoag
