Pros
Free lunches The employees in the shop I helped manage were all great. OK job for gaining experience in customer service management. Very relaxed environment
Cons
Little flexibility Late nights if on the closing shift Long hours. They class full time as 45 hours per week (after breaks). This made for very little work-life balance. Some days you could be working 12 hour shifts open to close. Unpaid overtime if salaried so would often find myself working over 50 hours a week. I had some problems with management which were never actually addressed. Head office often ignored anything you flagged up as an issue on site. Never seemed to take concerns seriously. Little opportunity to progress. Head office ignored any customer assistants and never acknowledged their existence
