Pros

Other colleagues, nice office space

Cons

Management aren’t great, every other ex member of staff I have spoken to agrees that too many people have been internally promoted based on a who you know (not what you know) basis.. obviously resulting in management who have no real experience outside of the business - which as you can imagine, is a recipe for disaster. I was made redundant during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic last year, and it is worth noting that the post was swiftly filled by someone else from within the business… Classic (and against the law I think?) - Would definitely recommend avoiding like the plague following my experience here. Have so much to say, but this company absolutely destroyed me and my mental health over the course of two years and feel like the battle is no longer worth it. I now work for a much better company where I am respected and treated how I should’ve been all along… not to mention the much better pay and benefits.. If your thinking of applying to work here, especially in Chester… don’t do it.

Pros

The CEO and upper management were great. A diverse range of employees from different backgrounds employed there. Good central work location.

Cons

Low pay. Commission structure misleading and extremely minimal. Direct managers poor, one especially had a case of 'small man syndrome' and would just scream at you for no reason on most days - very demotivating, un encouraging and soul destroying.

Dear Colleague, Thanks for sharing your experience. Albeit this is a review from 2015. I'd like to assure you that the Senior Management have taken significant steps to address the above mentioned problems. We have planned Career Camp for all our line managers. The aim of this event is to educate them on better managing their teams, regular check-ins, staff motivation, feedback and development. Along with a permanent Head of People and a HR Manager in Chester we have a Chief People Officer who is working very hard on defining a People Strategy that supports growth and retention. Thank you for the valuable feedback and I assure you that we are doing everything that it takes to improve this experience this year on.
