Pros
Some of the most truly brilliant, dedicated and passionate professionals I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. These individuals are the reason anything ever moved forward at all - and the only reason to stay, for as long as you can stomach the environment.
Cons
Leadership rewards charisma and self-promotion over competence, integrity, and actual contributions. Influence is earned by pleasing the right people, pretending to have it all figured out while undermining people doing the actual work. The leadership that remains not only tolerated unethical behavior, they protected it - while those who took real risks to speak up were systematically eliminated. Every person who tried to raise a red flag is gone, one way or another. Management structures are disempowering, decision-making is reactive, and direction shifts without warning. Layoffs felt arbitrary and poorly planned & executed, and critical feedback is treated as a threat. Health challenges are treated as a lack of commitment, subtle pressure of not belonging if you can’t push through. Taking care of yourself meant risking your position, as many have found out during layoffs. This is a culture where image matters more than outcomes, where speaking up costs you your job, and where the people trying to fix things are systematically eliminated. I wouldn’t recommend this workplace to my worst enemy, even if they would deserve the treatment this place has to offer, their families really don’t deserve the consequences of a loved one working there.
