The only pro of working here was the rich and interesting content of the Center.
Cons
The Center seems like the dream workplace for anyone interested in human or civil rights. They attract great talent, but then do not support their employees, ultimately setting staff up for failure. Leadership is terrible, and it trickled down to be a very dysfunctional and hostile work environment. The Center's leadership just refuses to acknowledge that it is a museum and follow museum best practices. Instead, they insist on focusing on revenue instead of content, which ultimately harms their efforts to be revenue generating. They mistreated so many staff and have had numerous ethically questionable firings and forced resignations. Often times staff would talk among ourselves about the irony of working for a human rights organization that has little regard for the rights of its employees.
