Bizongo Response
6yDear employee of Bizongo,
I have read the review and would like to address your concern. It would be nice if you can write to me directly, and I would surely help you get more clarity on the points which are raised.
To correct a few beliefs - Bizongo took a stand in March for not laying off any employees, while all startups were pushed for laying off people due to the unprecedented COVID-19 outbreak. This does put some pressure on the company and I am sure as an employee you would appreciate that you would not like to see yourself or fellow colleagues in a state of unemployment. The temporary salary cut of 3 months has reduced a short term issue but given us a bigger relief to retain employment for all. We do agree to your sentiment of salary reduction, but please understand it's a temporary pain.
Regarding your comment on Bonus. It's about a 12-month performance of an employee. I would support you to have a conversation with your manager and understand where was the performance lacking. What made them rate you lesser than what you expected. This is a very subjective call, and at times can be tough if you are not clear. The conversation will help more than reviews at this sensitive time.
Bizongo has a very open culture and has an employee-first approach to solving issues. We have built clear OKR methods of performance assessment and are reviewed quarterly. We are also building a lot of employees to leadership engagement plans to be more transparent on the future roadmap.
Please feel free to write to me, and can assure confidentiality to solve your concerns.
