Pros

From the top down, these are great people to work for--both professional and kind/compassionate, which is rare. The company culture is fairly young/upbeat, and they do a lot to try to include the writers (e-newsletters, Facebook group, etc.) even though we are all scattered across the country. You pick the work you want from communal online spreadsheets (most of the time, as much as you want) and the topics/formatting requirements/pay are stated upfront--no guesswork, no nonsense, very straightforward. There's a thorough new hire training period and lots of help along the way if you have any questions. Account managers are always very responsive if you need help. Writers are paid promptly every 2 weeks via PayPal. Opportunity for advancement to higher paying articles with time/persistence. All in all, not bad for a job you can do in your pajamas from your couch.

Cons

The lowest paying tier of articles come in at around $0.01/word, and the majority of these articles are, in my opinion, more complicated than they should be for this pay level. Even if you write well and type decently fast, you can easily wind up earning less than minimum wage if you aren't careful. I still highly recommend working for this company, but expect to pay your dues, so to speak, on this pay tier when you are first hired.

Pros

Owners/managers were hands-on in a good way. They were actually kind people who wanted to develop me to do better, even though I was a contract employee. My emails before, during, and after employment never went unanswered--I appreciate that.

Cons

Sometimes not enough work to go around.
