I have been working at EDF full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Excellent executive team (Customers business unit). Lots of trust and opportunity to progress. Employee engagement is taken seriously and good benefits.

    Cons

With any large organisation, things can be slow/difficult to change. Old school mentality in long-serving members of both junior and senior teams is frustrating - a small element of "boys club" mentality in the senior operational team.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at EDF full-time

    Pros

Good pension. Free instant coffee and £50 reduction of your yearly energy bill if you are an EDF customer.

    Cons

Rude, opaque middle management stuck in the 1950s. Limited training available, all delivered internally. All these positive commens below are either left by HR, or by non-finance employees.

    Advice to Management

Middle management should take some classes in emotional intelligence, empathy and common decency - bullying and sexism is rampant, paired with an impotent HR function - makes Customers Finance not a good place to grow and develop if you are junior.

    Pros

Nice people, good work life balance

    Cons

Too many inefficiencies, narrow thinking, and inertia. Takes a long time for leadership to make decisions!

    Advice to Management

Be far more responsive to changing consumer needs and market landscape. Too slow! Bring in fresh ideas & new talent at the senior levels.
