I have been working at Commonwealth Bank of Australia full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Amazing organisation that supports your banking career. I have been given the freedom to excel in my field and grow and develop my skills further. I have transitioned from a frontline role into a support role and CommBank has provided me the tools needed for success. There are a large number of pathways to choose from and leadership team are actively engaged in your career/personal development.

    Cons

At times within a large organisation people can get lost. It is up to the individual to make sure that they stand out and look to further themselves. If they do not also seek this out it may mean they don't get to take advantage of the options available to them.

I have been working at Commonwealth Bank of Australia full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - Flexible work arrangements - Value-add work; clear connection to purpose - Surrounded by people who want to achieve a common goal - Good pay and staff benefits - Beautiful office locations/buildings - Speak up culture/constructive challenge encouraged - A large organisation with the opportunity to move around

    Cons

    - Hierarchical structure; top-heavy in management - A lot of change/rapid pace, with long hours at times - Sometimes it's who you know; and technically-skilled people can be promoted into people-leader roles - Can be an attitude of "that's how we've always done things around here" - Development can fall to the wayside if other priorities take over
