    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Commonwealth Bank of Australia full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Flexible and work life balance Friday drinks after pm

    Cons

Lowball salary offer below market rate and HR even wanted to negotiate down my salary. Poor bonus. You are asked to do more then you are paid for. No training and no support. If you do things right you are great. If wrong , management will blame you. Toxic politics. Its all about favourisms not merits. Beaucratic. My manager never does a things and just find excuses to make other teammates work. Top down management decision and they pretend to listen but they dont. CBA values and KPIs are all fake and superficial. Managers usually play political games to get things done. Worst bank among most foreign banks in HK. Low chance on career advancement development. Hard work is not recognised. And all of a sudden they “restructure” that makes everyone lose their sense of belonging amd job security

I worked at Commonwealth Bank of Australia part-time

    Pros

    * Fantastic employee benefits - the bonus potential and health fund are particularly attractive * Excellent team atmosphere * Transparent KPI's

    Cons

    * Micro-management of employees - many levels of management involved in decision-making and disciplinary practices; school-like atmosphere * No talent management - multiple entry-level employees completing university but their skills were not harnessed by management / acknowledged as beneficial to the organisation * Very high targets for reaching the bonus meant many did not achieve it * Low staff morale is common given the claustrophobic work environment
