I worked at Catholic Health Initiatives full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Positive, supportive employees and management.

    Cons

No real significant cons. The department I worked in wasn't so political. There are departments where the culture is significantly different than my experience.

I have been working at Catholic Health Initiatives part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Direct patient interaction and the ability for people wanting to explore medicine to see all of the poop and rewards that come with it.

    Cons

Although the job is consistent it can be mundane cleaning work and if you are not a long-range thinker then mistakes can be made easily because of the routine work. Although be warned that there isn't much advancement in this field unless you have a RN degree.

I have been working at Catholic Health Initiatives full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Night shift has excellent team work and look out for each other. decent chance of getting your requested time off, but that goes for any floor in the hospital (based on seniority). Benefits are good for the area, but milticare (Who i now work for) are better, as well as better pay.

    Cons

Day shift: cattie, selfish and bullies. Won't even do their work until a couple hours in when managers arrive. And they get a way with yelling at their coworkers. Evening shift need retraining, patience complained about the lack of skill, nothing gets done. Management: will block you from transferring even though you have perfect attendance and excellent yearly reviews. And that includes when you finally finish school. Rumors going around that they are giving the coveted spots (Mother-Baby Unit) to external applicants over internal candidates.

I have been working at Catholic Health Initiatives full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Training before working with patients. Nice therapy boss. Double pay for holidays. Productivity required with patients 55~60%. EPIC documentation system.

    Cons

Clicks in therapy department. Coworkers judging you or talking behind your back. No teamwork with other therapists. Physical therapy controls what you can do for your OT treatments. When you co-treat with physical therapy, they don’t give you credit when they write their notes, even though you do. Miscommunication between departments. Disorganized nursing staff with “team” nursing. If caseload is low, you may have to go home and use your PTO hours even if you are salary. Therapy company boss is not the same company as hospital. Therapy department gets blamed for everything. Very low pay and below average benefits. Lots of computer problems with EPIC.
