High price for high speed

Pros

1. Undeniable PMF: The product works, it’s profitable, and BNPL is a total no-brainer in this market. The business model is solid. 2. Speed: You can execute very fast without the typical corporate checkpoints slowing you down. 3. Remote & Pay: It’s 100% remote, which is a huge plus, and the compensation is very competitive. Note: Be aware that while the pay is good, the tech stack and product/engineering practices lag significantly behind competitors. This will likely slow down your professional growth.

Cons

I’ll list these chronologically: 1. Zero Onboarding: Don’t expect a "welcome week" or an adaptation period. There is no process and you’re expected to start and deliver with little to no context from day one. 2. Feels directionless. There does not seem to be a long-term roadmap (it might exist in a table, but in reality, it doesn't). It's just the "theme of the week", and currently, it’s AI at any cost. Every All Hands and the CEO’s weekly notes feel like a pseudo-threat: adopt AI immediately, or else. The word "redundant" is said repeatedly. 3. Toxic Leadership. This is THE biggest thing, as I think the rest of the cons is a consequence of this. The CEO is dismissive and regularly belittles team members publicly. He does not accept any form of pushback or constructive criticism. His tone and messages (again, pseudo-threats with AI) at All Hands creates more anxiety than inspiration. 4. Quantity over quality. It seems that no one actually cares if the work is top class; they just care that it’s shipped fast (and if AI was used in the process). 5. Silence culture. Everyone seems afraid to speak up in almost all forums. You’ll see it in meetings: everyone is smiling, but then in private, they’ll share their real feelings and advise you to just do what’s being asked. There is a silent "no-pushback" policy. I personally saw the CEO, in front of around 400 people at a live event, answer a question in the most disrespectful and dismissive way possible. It’s no surprise that there’s NEVER a question submitted at the All Hands. 6. While 99% of employees are kind, there is a small group of "high-performers" who are notoriously difficult to work with. It seems that leadership gives them a free pass on their lack of soft skills, allowing them to affect everyone else's morale.

Terrible Place

Pros

None that I can think of to be honest.

Cons

Place with a significant lack of collaboration during the onboarding process. Prepare from the beginning not to receive appropriate guidance or support. Lack of empathy, with a huge toxic work environment from day one. If you expect a supportive environment, this is not the place for you. Expect exactly what other one-star reviews mention: a toxic environment where some people even fear other team members, with dynamics of protection toward certain “rockstars” who deeply affect others due to their lack of soft skills. Masking and normalizing toxic behavior behind sentences like “…It’s because our company is different or challenging…” is the daily excuse. The design team is afraid to speak up. It’s a team exhausted and broken by the toxic atmosphere. Leadership does not give a voice to team members who are afraid to speak up or address situations within the team, and is inattentive to the needs of some members while being more attentive to others. I truly do not recommend this place at all. No amount of compensation is worth the place.
