Not at all surprised that the pay was too low. Media General and its properties are well-known for that very fact. Has nothing to do with current economic situation or decline in newspapers (where I was). This was the case for the 20 years I was there. Glad you declined. I'm surprised they have 2.6 stars out of 5 - this can only be due to reviews by recent hires. Less
