      Localization Manager Interview

      14 Jul 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Wrike in Jul 2020

      Interview

One positive thing to mention: they sent me an invitation for an interview 1 day after my submitting the application. A recruiter shortly described the company and the position during our first screening call and then said, every applicant needs to pass a UCAT test to even just get an opportunity for an actual interview with the hiring manager. They sent me a document with links to mock-up tests which later I learned had not much to do with the actual test. There were 40 questions to answer in 20 minutes, some of them involving calculations (using a calculator is not allowed during the test) and they'd asked for my permission to record the whole process to see whether I'm cheating or not. The test was supposed to cover the following fields: numerical reasoning, logic and analysis, spatial reasoning, attention to detail and the description highlighted that it wouldn't include verbal ability, which was especially peculiar considering the position (localization manager). The actual test was basically switching between numerical reasoning and attention to detail kind of Qs. A day later the recruiter called me to let me know that I didn't pass the test but couldn't provide any details into the actual results. He then went on basically reading up a typical "wish you good luck finding your dream job" speech, including the line "keep looking at our future openings" at which point I lost it. I told him straight, I find it a little ironic that he's suggesting I should try again with this company, considering that I've just been told I'm not even eligible for the interviewing process. Then I highlighted that I have more than 15 years professional experience, out of which 5 spent in localization and I find it strange that this company doesn't even value the actual experience but then the situation became outrageous. He actually started re-reading (or maybe he already knows his line by heart) the exact same sentences about wishing me good luck finding my dream job and so on and I could tell that he was going to hang the phone up on me. No thank you, Wrike, I'm definitely not interested in your future openings.

      Question 1

During the screening call the recruiter only asked basic questions about my experience and how I see the position.

      Interview

The interview process took long and didn't seem well organized. I had many interviews with people of different levels. I also got a real-life task which I apparently completed very well.
