I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Workday in Apr 2025
Interview
The process took around two and half months. I applied online and received a phone screening a week later, followed by a one-hour video interview as part of the first round. Two weeks after that, I was invited to the second round, which included three back-to-back video interviews. These were standard interviews in the STAR format, each focusing on different aspects. I believe I performed very well in all of them, and I received subtle indications from each interviewer that their feedback would be positive.
Two weeks after the second round, I was told via email that the hiring manager was away and I should expect an update the following week. After receiving no update, I followed up ten days later. The hiring manager responded, saying they expected an update the next day and would call me. However, that call never happened. I followed up again a couple of days later, but this time received no response.
At that point, I decided to withdraw from the process and accepted another offer. A week later, I received an email stating that they would not be progressing with my application, citing a need for someone at a more advanced level. This was confusing, as the job description required 2–3 years of experience, and I have over 5 years in the same field.
It’s disappointing that a company of this size handled the process this way. Ghosting candidates and providing unclear, delayed communication reflects poorly on their hiring practices. There seems to be a lack of coordination within the recruitment team and a lack of respect for candidates’ time and effort.
