I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Work in Progress Textilhandels (London, England) in Mar 2022
Interview
I uploaded my CV and received a call to come in for an interview. The interview was a standard retail interview, however they mainly focussed on a lot of brand knowledge and what the store was selling. They are specifically looking for people who enjoy Carhartt rather than a general retail worker.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What do you know about Carhartt WIP? What are some of the items you saw around the store?
I interviewed with two senior managers for the position of Senior SEO Manager. In preparation for the interview, I audited the website as I expected technical questions. It was a pleasant and professional interview that lasted over an hour. At the end of it, they asked for my salary expectations. After a week, they replied that they would like to move forward with my application, but that my salary expectations weren't in line with their budget. It's a bit frustrating to go through a whole preparation and an hour-long interview with 2 senior managers to hear that. There should have been a 15-minute HR screening interview conducted in the first place. I don't understand why a company would skip such an important step. Please save yourself and the candidates time by doing this!
